COFFEE and all that JAZZ
. The idea was for an European-inspired coffeehouse, comfortable and inviting, with good jazz playing in the background. The dream came to fruition in 1997 when COFFEE and all that JAZZ opened its doors for business for the first time.

Among the chief attractions of COFFEE and all that JAZZ (in addition to the great coffee) is the ambience and décor. The walls are adorned with interesting pieces including a saxophone from 1914, Art Kane’s famous photo of Jazz legends sitting on the sidewalk in Harlem, framed Jazz Records, and posters of legendary musicians and composers. Behind the counter is an old-fashioned, Italian, Victoria Arduino, manual piston espresso machine, which is used to pull each shot of espresso.

 

 

 

The beans that make your great cup of coffee at COFFEE and all that JAZZ are housed in century old canisters. The story behind the canisters is certainly an interesting one. They were shipped from Germany by a department store chain intending to provide coffee for their customers. The canisters, however, never reached their intended destination. When the canisters arrived in North America , they entered the underground market, as many items did at the turn of the twentieth century. The canisters turned up in the 1940s in a coffee shop in Toronto . As the story goes, the coffee shop operated successfully for about 40 years, but fell on hard times when the large retail coffee chains began to corner the industry. The coffee shop owner could not afford to pay his supplier and offered these rare canisters as a form of payment.

COFFEE and all that JAZZ uses the highest quality beans from around the world and features over 18 different, fresh-roasted varieties. In addition, COFFEE and all that JAZZ serves a variety of pastries made with premium ingredients and no artificial flavours, colours, or preservatives.
